This Week's Speaker
Mark Galvin, Our Rotary Brand

Mark Galvin serves as director of marketing for Discover Dunwoody, the destination marketing organization (DMO) responsible for promoting tourism within the thriving city located just north of Atlanta. He is also Dunwoody Rotary's Public Image Chair for the 2023-24 Rotary year and will share some thoughts in Friday's meeting about building our Club's Rotary brand.

His 30 years of experience from various hotel brands including InterContinental Hotel Group, Hyatt Hotels, Marriott® Hotels and Omni Hotels & Resorts, as well as from several independent hotels and resorts, well prepared him for this role. He began his hospitality career working in room operations, serving as front office manager and housekeeping director. Rotary Youth Exchange
Gearing Up for the 2024-25 RYE Class

Know someone who might be interested in this year abroad high school experience? We are gearing up to identify outbound Rotary Youth Exchange students for the 2024-25 school year, and to identify potential sponsor clubs and families for inbound clubs. We're hoping to sponsor a student this year from Dunwoody High School - our first since the pandemic. We need your help in spreading the word about the opportunity to your neighbors and friends!

It all starts with an Information Session. Students who would like to learn more about the Rotary Youth Exchange scholarship program should attend an Information Session.  Before submitting an application, students must participate in one of the Information Sessions together with at least one parent.  (Rotarians welcome at these events - sign up at RYESE.org/district-6900/6900-application-info/

  • Session 2- Sandy Springs Library – Aug 29, 2023
  • Session 3- Peachtree City – Sep 5, 2023
  • Session 4- Emory Johns Creek Hospital – Sep 20, 2023

Applications are open now and due by October 15, 2023. We will reveal student selections on December 13, 2023. Contact Rick Woods (our Club Chair this year for RYE) or Mike Parks for more information.
