Ranger Fred Needs Your Help This Saturday!

Bounds Garden (the traffic island across from the Dunwoody Library) needs a little loving care and Ranger Fred Bounds could use your help and fellowship this Saturday, January 15, at 9 am. It may be a little cold (understatement), so don't dress like the August crew pictured here - but the job shouldn't take but an hour or so. Bring your garden gloves and a smile!

Service Opportunity
You Be the Judge - 2022 Georgia Laws of Life Essay Contest

The Georgia Laws of Life Essay contest is coming up this winter/spring, with thousands of essays from high school students around the state. Our club has been a long-time and enthusiastic contest sponsor - we have provided prize money, served on the Board and judged essays since Dunwoody Rotarian George Stewart was at the center of this Georgia Rotary initiative. As a sponsor, we have the opportunity to judge the contest - in a window that starts mid-February and runs through April 1. You can be a school judge, a state judge, or both.  Judging - and training to be a judge - all takes place online, and takes a few hours of your time.

Sign up at Laws of Life.

Service Spotlight
Envisioning a Happy, Healthy and HIV-free Future ... Article by Sneha Saloni

Editor's Note: This month is Vocational Service Month for Rotary International - and in the District Newsletter, District Governor Mary talks about using our vocations, talents and skills to serve others - through a club service project or a Rotary Action Group. One of the great examples of a Rotary Action Group is the Rotary Action Group for Family Health and AIDS Prevention (RFHA) founded by our own Marion Bunch. In a recent article on the Rotary Service Blog, reporter Sneha Saloni talked to our own Laura Kann about RFHA and Laura's Rotary journey. Marion shared the article with me, and you can read the story by linking to it here in our January District Newsletter.
